51. the workshop

I think this is the first time I write a blog just on the workshop. In this blog I will introduce the workshop to you. What we are making there, the plans we have for the future. But first of all:

Purpose of the Community-based workshop:

• People learn how to use certain tools so that they can practice a trade and have an income that way.  This is focused on a certain technique, but also on its practical implementation. (Sewing machines (hand and electric), welding machine, phrase machine, small hand tools, etc. etc.)

• Teaching people to work in the most sustainable way possible.

• Making people aware of their behaviour towards materials and the climate.

• Helping people with disabilities grow in their self-esteem.

Goal of the community-based workshop for the Lumen Mundi school:

• The Community-based workshop generates finances to make the school independent of Dutch income in the future.

• Some students of the Lumen Mundi school will, when they have reached the age to do so, be involved in this community-based workshop. They are given tasks depending on their ability. (Continuation of education after 18 years)
