50. visitors
This week we had a visit from Anja Spanjers from Heesch The Netherlands and Emanuel Nkruma, director of Compassionate Kids International School- Adawso -Koforidua.
A very nice visit, both for the children, the schooland the workshop. Emanuel had a lot of good ideas for the workshop and for the children, Anja painted trees with our children and came up with fun ideas for the creative lessons.
Saviour now has 'shoes' for her hands and Ezekiel 'shoes' for his knees. I don't believe there are children who are happier with their shoes!
We are going to make shoes for Saviour's knees (the flip flops we are going to use for it were given to us by Emanuel) and then we think about how we can provide Gilbert with protection. Julliët, Apatawen's mother, made the shoes, so we already have someone with shoemaking experience!
We also visited the Sandema creche and kindergarten together. For me that was special anyway, because in 2008 or 2009 Louise, at the time also a volunteer from VSO (Volunteer Services Overseas) and I, provided the classes with an alphabet frieze on the walls and Louise made sure that the playground equipment that was stored, was put outside, so that the children could pay on them. We, as Lumen Mundi, gratefully made use of this last week, and that was not the first time!
Emanuel and Anja will both come back again: Emanuel in the capacity of national coordinator of Help Ghana, and Anja as a volunteer.
We are all looking forward to it!
