53. Christmas play
Actually, following a tradition at the Fransiscus school in Veghel where Margreet worked for 8 years, we also organized a Christmas celebration at Lumen Mundi Foundation. As with all performances, we started practicing... Lots of practicing. That meant, for example, singing Christmas carols at our daily opening.
The kids loved it! Especially when Mary gave the children dress-up clothes. In the beginning, that wasn't the clothes they would wear during the performance: they weren't ready yet. But a necklace, a shirt, a shawl. In the end, costumes were made in the workshop. From that moment on, it was all much more real and exciting!!
Unfortunately, Herod had to wait a little longer for his clothes: Chief Afulang gave us a traditional smock! With a high golden crown he was also a real king.
Margreet told the story in English, Godfred translated it in Buli. The children showed what was being told.
The guests were the parents, the board, some invited guests and the people of the Naasa community. It was a very successful performance!
The Lumen Mundi Foundation wishes everyone a great 2024!
