28.mothers day gift

This has been a very short week: we were supposed to start on Monday, May 2nd , but because May 1st was Labor Day, we were off on Monday. Tuesday turned out to be Eid al-Fitr, which we hadn't thought of either. That is a National Holiday in Ghana. On Wednesday, the school reopened.
We spent a lot of time these three days on our Mother's Day gift. Mother's Day is celebrated here in Ghana, but on a much smaller scale than in the Netherlands. But we thought the children could still make a present. It is very difficult here to let the children make something themselves: the adults often do not find it beautiful enough and then take over.
We turned pieces of an egg-egg tray into daffodils.
The children painted them. Daniël stamped 'Happy mothers day' and the children colored it in and made a drawing underneath. From green straws I made a stem (Please note: glued with 10-second glue!) and from paper some leaves. It has therefore become a 'composite' product: from the children and the adults.
The result was very beautiful. Unfortunately, there is no photo of that: forgotten to make and the flowers have already been taken home ...
