14. week 2 already

Time flies. It's great to see that everything is running more and more smoothly. A daily rhythm has now arisen and all children receive the attention they deserve. Fortunately, we now have power, so the fan can be turned on. That is also necessary, because we are in the middle of the hot season. Afternoon temperatures above 40 degrees are no exception! 

This week we also had our first sick child. Gilbert, who always laughs, arrived at school in the morning with abdominal pain. I felt his head and I was shocked. I consulted with my colleagues, and we decided to bring him home. At home, the parents went to the pharmacy and received medication to stop the diarrhea. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be the only problem and Gilbert continued to suffer. 

Through the clinic he was referred to the hospital. I was shocked by that! On Thursday we decided to visit Gilbert. We, almost the entire staff, and 4 children went to the hospital. Of course, I had forgotten that we had to have face masks there, and it took a long time before everyone was provided. 

In the meantime we had a lot of attention! When we were finally able to enter the hospital, we met Gilbert and his mother in the hallway. You should have seen Gilbert's face!!!!! There was such a broad smile on his face: it almost broke in two pieces! It also appeared that he told his mother every day that he wanted to go to school. Nevertheless, we thought it would be better that he stayed at home for another day on Friday: recovering from the hospitalization. 

Unfortunately for Gilbert, Monday is also a day off: Indepence Day. But on Tuesday we will meet him again with all his enthusiasm and his huge smile in Siniensi!
