13. luck

How lucky we are! Because the university is on strike, Paul Asiawon (mentioned earlier in all kinds of stories) is a volunteer in the Lumen Mundi school. And, we have another volunteer: Faith's mother, Mary helps us too. Together they support Daniël, the assistant teacher.

And that is very helpfull, because the group is so diverse that we can use all hands. Mary not only supports Daniel, but she trains Loïs to sit, she changes diapers and Mary helps Loïs on my back so I can walk with her. Loïs weighs as much as a sac cement! That's not true, but she doesn't help at all when you pick her up. That makes it extra difficult for me to get her on my back. In addition,

I always forget which part I should ty first before I can stand. I am now at the point where Mary is watching from a distance and telling me what to do.

And we are certainly lucky with Kojo. Kojo told me the first week that he doesn't really like working with the children. But if I alone must feed Loïs and Rosemund, I'm feeding all day. So Kojo lends a hand. Now, since the second week Kojo is Rosemunds 'new best friend'! He takes her everywhere and he points out to me that Rosemund can turn on her belly and back on her own. Rosemund loves football too! With the biggest ball. Kojo rolls the ball to her and she 'kicks' the ball back, lying in a beanbag. It is a pleasure to see this! And, lucky enough, Alvin loves football too. That makes them a footballing trio!

And this week also made me happy that I can see that a real group is starting to grow. Building together with the blocks! Looking at each other. Comparing the buildings. A small challenge is that Junior particularly likes to put everything in boxes ... also, the buildings.
